parents.

[Ephesians 6:1] Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right."

I know this is like, one of the classic Sunday school verses, but I was thinking about it on the way home last night and just how easy it is to forget. God commands us to obey our parents, not because they are right [although chances are, they're right], not because we want to [of course we want to], not because we will get something out of it, but because "this is right". Colossians 3:20 says, "Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well and pleasing unto the Lord."
Although most people don't struggle with this, I have a hard time seeing my parents as a gift, as was discussed yesterday with Alysha and Jess. They do so much for me, so why can't I just tidy up the kitchen when they ask me to. Why not take a night off from hanging with the group because I want to spend time with my family. It's all simple, simple stuff, yet challenges me every day.

yup. they are.

"knowing is half the battle". once you know where you need to pursue growth, it is much easier to accept God's grace and "get to it" than when it is just a vague area that you think needs changing...

anyway i hope that encourages you. i was rambling.
